Aston University is very friendly place to study and all people I have met are really helpful. Last two weeks have been really good time to get to know how everything works here. School is truly international and there are students from all over the world – especially many from China and India. I enjoy the international environment! :)
All the business modules are taught in Main Building which is 5 minutes walk from my residence. Labyrinth is the best word to describe how school is built but I have learned quite well how to find those classes where my lectures are.
Lectures have been so far interesting and I have been pleased of modules that I chose. Usually students in Aston have compulsory and optional modules but as an exchange student I had opportunity to choose the modules that I liked. I decided to study following modules;
- Assessment, Performance and Reward
- Strategy, Change and Leadership
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Emerging Economies
- Public Policy, CSR and Sustainable Development
All the modules are worth of 7,5 ECTS credits. At beginning I felt this is quite a lot of studies for 10 weeks but this far it has been alright. I will see if it is too much when assessment deadlines come closer.
Lessons are held from Monday to Friday. Morning lectures are at 9-12am, afternoon ones at 2-5pm and evening lectures from 6 to 9pm. Almost every module is planned in a way that there is only one 3-hours lesson in a week. That means that I have only 12 hours lessons per week and luckily the modules I picked are between Tuesday and Thursday so my weekends are 4 days long, yay!
All in all I have been great two weeks at school studying at Aston and meeting new people from all over the world! :)
